When Daniel Occena decided to become a lawyer, he hoped to bring something unique to this profession. Looking at the landscape of attorneys that came before him, it was a rarity to find someone who looked like him or came from where he was. He was a young man who many educators and professionals counted out because of the lack of family support. Nevertheless, his dream and passion lit a fire that one could put out.

Daniel’s Legal Experience
He began working for one of the fastest-growing social security disability law firms in the United States. Daniel is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and Connecticut and admitted to the Federal District Courts of Massachusetts. For the past 13 years, he has also been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service, which sets the governing bylaw for its entire panel of attorneys.
Establishing the Firm
Daniel founded our firm because he wanted to offer a service that is authentic and true to its core values. He often hears that we should not reinvent the wheel in this profession but he could not do that. Although there are many lessons lawyers should adhere to in this century-old profession, he firmly believes his perspective, history, and experience should guide his practice above all.

Daniel is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the National Lawyers Guild and has volunteered for Neighborhood Legal Services and the MBA Dial-a-Lawyer Program. For his outstanding pro bono work, he received the “Neighborhood Legal Services Pro Bono” Award in 2011 and was recognized by the Women Encouraging Empowerment, Inc. in 2013.
